Another Detention to Prevent a March

The activist Yeider Fuentes Áreas was about to go to the Santiago de Cuba to participate in a march demanding the freedom of political prisoners and the cessation of the repression of activists of different opposition movements on the island. He was at the control point of Caimanera at 5:40 a.m. when he was detained by police officials and state security. A victim together with various activists began to protest on the bus and express to the passengers the violence that was being committed by the officials to arrest without motive or legal documents. All the activists who made it were transferred to the police station and released hours later but not before receiving threats of going to prison.
