Citizen arrested in the middle of the street for wanting to organize a peaceful demonstration highlighting the main problems facing the Cuban population.

Mr. Campusano Diaz was arrested by State Security officers, in the middle of the street, while he was in a meeting with opponents of the regime. The purpose of the meeting was to request authorization from the government to hold a peaceful demonstration to demand improvements for the Guantanamero people, the protection of rights that were being violated and to call attention to the lack of food and medicine. Mr. Campusano was released after 4 hours, but not before being threatened that he would be prosecuted if the demonstration took place.
