Mrs. Berta Gainza Romero was peacefully protesting in the streets asking the State for a dignified life and to help her build her house, because Integral Seis (the construction company belonging to the State) has promised to do it for more than 10 years. There is no furniture left in the house where she currently lives because it has deteriorated due to the rain that falls inside. Mrs. Gainza mentioned that, if she did not receive the requested help, she would protest again with her children and ask for the support of the people of Baracoa and the opposition. As a result, she was threatened with being beaten by members of the Special Troops on the orders of Anael Hernández (first lieutenant of the National Revolutionary Police) and Asiel Medina Espinoza (lieutenant of State Security). She has also been threatened with imprisonment if she disturbs public order again by the Rapid Response Brigades, under orders from Major Alfredo Oliveros and Lieutenant Colonel Lesnier Leiva.
