Activist detained when he was about to visit his imprisoned friend

On Friday, 11 January 2020, Osmani Acosta Paz, an activist from the Independent Movement - Alternative Option, was arrested in the prison in Agüica by two secret police officers. Osmani was about to visit his friend, political prisoner Armando Trujillo. Immediately, he was taken to one of the prison offices and subjected to an interrogation. Later on, he was transfered to the Technical Investigations Department in the municipality of Colón. In this detention center, the officers confiscated him the food he was bringing to Trujillo, because, according to the official known as Mota, " it had been bought with counterrevolutionary money". Osmani was not given any official document proving the confiscation. At 12 pm, he was released.
