An activist Marcos Antonio Moran Pelegrin was going to the Santuario del Cobre in Santiago de Cuba Province to attend Mass which was being conducted to demand the end of political repression and the release of political prisoners. At 6:15 am, he was detained in 3 Sur Street by police and State Security officials. Then he was driven to the police station and threatened. He was released several hours later.
