On January 6, 2017, the political police in Holguín searched the house of Rosa Escalona Gómez, the representative of Damas de Blanco. They occupied a box of toys, which was supposed to be delivered to the children from Holguín on Three Kings Day. The searching began at 1pm by several officers and other members of the political police. Rosa was taken to the police unit known as Pedernales, where she was warned for her activities, and was detained for five hours.
