Rubislandi Ávila Gonzáles was traveling by bus to Santiago de Cuba to attend Todos Marchamos Campaign organized by UNPACU. When the bus got to Santa María, police forced him to get off the bus and Rubislandi was detained along with other activists from UNPACU. After several hours of waiting at the edge of the road, he was put into a police car and taken to the National Revolutionary Police in Julio Antonio Mella. He was threatened with death if he continued his activities in UNPACU. He was detained for more than 6 hours.
