UNPACU activist beaten when he was about to attend an event organized by his organization

In the morning, 12 June, 2020, Henry Couto Guzmán was heading to the provincial headquarters of the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU) located in the city of Guantánamo. He was about to participate in a national fasting, an event organized by the UNPACU in order to express solidarity with Ruíz Urquiola brothers. On that day, from the early morning on, Mr. Couto was receiving phone calls from State Security officials, Kevin and Víctor, who were threatening him with beating him up. "Look outside and you will see a present we have for you," said the officials. There were several officials and members of the Rapid Response Brigade on motocycles ready to detain and beat up Mr. Couto.
