In the morning, 12 June 2020, a human rights defender and a member of the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU), Alexey Brizo la Hera, was on his way to attend an event organized by UNPACU. He was detained on the street by State Security officials Kevin and Víctor. They put him in a patrol car and drove him to the police unit known as Parque 24. There, Alexey was beaten up and then put in a prison cell. The officials also confiscated him 130 pesos in the national currency, hit his phone with a hammer and when giving him back the broken phone, they said: "It is over for UNPACU. We are going to destroy you. Tell it to the other activists, Henry and Bartolo. We will beat you to death, one by one." The victim was then taken out from the police station by the rear door and released.
