Woman arrested in a festival in El Salvador and accused of public disorder



On 27 October 2018, Clara Mirtha was participating with her family in a popular festival in the municipality of El Salvador known as Carnevales. Suddenly, a dispute among several people broke out and the others joined the crowd, Clara as well. Few moments later, a local policeman came and arrested her. Then she took her to the police unit in El Salvador. The First Secretary of the Cuban Communist Party, at that time also present at the festival with other high representatives of the party, ordered to prosecute her and take her to the prison. Subsequently, the police accused her of public disorder and on 12 November, she was taken to the female prison where she is now waiting for a trial.
