A human rights activist and a journalist from the Palenque Vision Agency, Yadisley Rodríguez Ramírez, was summoned on 30 August 2021 to the State Security (DSE) of the 3rd Police Unit in the Camagüey Province. There she was interrogated by Major Miranda who introduced himself as the head of the unit. The official told her that she was summoned in order to provide a new declaration regarding the accusation from an assault which happened in May. On that occasion, Yadisley had been returning from a birthday celebration with various activists and her three children. The police had detained her and had taken her to the 3rd Police Unit. From there she had been released with a precautionary measure of house arrest until the date of the trial. The official informed her that he was a new instructor and would like to treat her fairly. The new declaration should be used during the trial.
