Activist detained for two days and threatened for his support of the Ladies in White



Ramón Olivares Abello, a human rights activist, was on his way to the UNPACU headquarters in Guantánamo to participate in a workshop about human rights. Before going to that, he went to the church to attend Mass, where he is already a member of the church. Leaving the church, he was intercepted by the major of the State Security known as Giovanni and taken in a patrol car to the detention unit known as Parque 24. Here, he was interrogated by Giovanni and threatened to be fined for supporting the Ladies in White. He was released the same day around 5 pm.
