The activist Alexei was heading to Santiago de Cuba to attend the Mass at the Santuario del Cobre when he was attacked between the streets Avenida Camilo Cienfuegos and San Gregorio by riot troops, officers of the National Revolutionary Police and State Security officials who beat him. Later, he was taken to the police unit 52 km from the city of Guantanamo. He was offended when they told him he was black man that looked like a monkey.
