An UNPACU activist detained and interrogated over signs which appeared in Baracoa

At 2 am on 2 February 2021, an activist from the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU), José Handy Lobaina Moreira, was detained by a State Security official, Major Alfredo Oliveros, along with an officer from the National Revolutionary Police (PNR), Lieutenant Feyo Nicle Hernández. The activist was interrogated by Lieutenant Colonel Lesnier Leiva and then on 3 February in the early morning released. The official wanted the activist to say that it was him who had written anti-government signs which had been placed in the neighborhood. The activist has already been detained on three occasions during less than two weeks, always for the same reason. The mentioned official also wanted Lobaina Moreira to blame an UNPACU coordinator in Baracoa, Keyber Rodríguez Fernández, from instructing him to prepare the signs.
