Lawyer detained at the airport



When José Ernesto Morales Estrada, a lawyer and human rights defensor, arrived at the José Martí International Airport, he was immediately taken out from the line he was waiting in and the Immigration officers started interrogated him. They asked him very insensitive questions. He was also told that his stuff would be confiscated. When he was released and continued going to the exit, he was detained again by Customs and State Security officer. All his personal belongins were being searched for 2 hours. The officers damaged one of his luggages during the search. When they did not find any suspicious item, José Ernesto was released without getting any apology.
