On February 21, 2016, the victim was going to attend Sunday Mass in the Santuario del Cobre in Santiago de Cuba province. The Mass was carried out in order to support Ladies in White and Todos Marchamos campaign which is being conducted to demand the release of political prisoners and the end of repression. At 6:30 am, the victim was detained and beaten in San Lino Street by a State Security oficial Kevin. He was put in the patrol car and driven to the State Security unit. He was kept there until 1 pm and then released.
