Yoel Suárez Fernández, journalist of Diario de Cuba and founder of the independent publishing house Boca de Lobo, has been banned from leaving the country since 2020, despite not having a criminal record. In addition, he was summoned for interrogation by State Security the days prior to the May 1st parade to threaten him so that he would not attend the parade.
