Alejandro Hernández Cepero, an independent journalist and pastor, was arbitrarily detained on July 18 by the State Security until July 20. He was not allowed to phone anyone and refused when asking for medical assistance or drinkable water. On the 20th he was handcuffed and taken to the unit between Zapata and Plaza de la Revolución, confined in an isolated cell. For 4 hours he requested medical assistance being always denied.
