Eduard participated in the Seminar for Democracy in Cuba held in Miami and sponsored by the Legal Rescue Foundation, through the Institute of Cuban and Cuban-American Studies (ICCAS) headquartered at the University of Miami. On his return, he was expelled from his job without claim. The alleged reason for this was not to provide some maps in time, but the real motive was his participation in international events that attempted "against the security of Socialism in Cuba." Eduard is one the many Cubans expelled from their work after having participated in the seminar.
