Activist summoned to the police station and intimidated by State Security official



José Antonio López Piña, a human rights defender from the Eastern Democratic Alliance (ADO), was summoned to the police unit in the municipality of El Cristo at 9 am. When he arrived, he was received and interrogated by a State Security (DSE) official known as Michel. The official told José Antonio that he had been summoned due to contributions for alternative media such as Cubanet and others. He also warned him to stop doing so otherwise he would be imprisoned. He was then fined 300 pesos and released at about 11 am.
