State agents harrass and threatened activists

Anairis Miranda Leyva, representative of the Olegario Charlot Spileta command of the Cuban Reflection Movement (MCR) in Holguín, along with other activists, was the victim of a siege by State Security Department (DSE) officers, uniformed police, and members of the Rapid Response group. The repressive operation began the night before and they used as concentration points the house of the DSE officer, the head of the Rapid Response Brigade Humberto Rodríguez Tang, and the "Museum of the Clandestine Struggle," located half a block from his house. That night and the day before, three people denounced the numerous acts that the political police had committed against the whole family, and against them. María Dolores Coquet, Guillén González and Virginia Ladrón de Guevara drank alcoholic beverages in front of her house, while they watched and made offenses and threats, including death threats to her family. Several vehicles of the Ministry of the Interior (MININT) were in the vicinity and Benedo Francisco Morffe Rodríguez was very aggressive with the victims. On International Workers' Day, they also experienced visible monitoring, siege and surveillance by the usual perpetrators.
