An activist from the Eastern Democratic Alliance (ADO), Manuel Alejandro León Velázquez, was summoned by the State Security (DSE) instructor Diosnory Pelegrin to the police unit known as Operations. When he arrived, he was received by Yunelkis Romero Tonzón, another DSE official. He started asking questions about a video where Manuel presented his opinion on governmental aid and support during the pandemic of coronavirus. He was asked whether the video was made by an activist Niober García Fournier, where he made it and who helped him. After having been incoherently interrogated for approximately two hours, he was told that if he contributed to another denigrating video targeting the Cuban government and the measures taken to fight the pandemic, he would be prosecuted under the Decree 370. This decree is often used to fine independent journalists or any citizen who uses social media in order to complaint about the situation in the country.
