The home of Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU) activist Raul Duran Montero, was the victim of attacks by members of the rapid response brigades, by orders of the Lieutenant Colonel Lesnier Leiva and by the Major and head of the opposition, Alfredo Oliveros from the State Security Department (DSE).The reason that these people attacked the activist's house was because the activist allegedly said that the government was using the epidemic situation to attack the opposition and also anyone who was selling any type of food product supposedly illegally, and that it was using members of the special troops to violently attack the people. As far as is known, these people who were used by the DSE to attack the activist in his own home were not from the neighborhood where the activist lived, but were brought by the DSE from other areas, including rural areas, to try to attack the activist and create panic among the population, to set an example and to prevent others from joining the activist or even to prevent the population from trying to demand certain rights.
