The activist was traveling by bus to Santiago de Cuba to attend Todos Marchamos campaign carried out by UNPACU. Once he got to Santa María, he was detained. Police pushed him and other UNPACU activists to the ground and they had to stay in this position for several hours. Then he was taken to the National Revolutionary Police in Julio Antonio Mella where he was threatened with death for his activism in UNPACU. Then the officers put him into the car and drove him outside the city where he was left to his fate.
