Manuel Pérez Suárez was on his way to join a march carried out by the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU), Todos Marchamos. Suddenly, he was detained by political police and taken out from the car by force. Then he was left on one side of the road along with other UNPACU activists. Several hours later, he was put in a car and driven to the National Revolutionary Police in Mella. There he was threatened with death if he kept being involved in UNPACU activities. He was released eight hours later.
