A man from Guantánamo detained and fined by police while carrying some goods for his family

Walfrido Nuñez Mendoza was on his way home, carrying some vegetables and meat. Suddenly, he was intercepted by several inspectors and the local sector police chief. The officials asked him for a receipt to show them where he had bought the goods. Nuñez Mendoza replied that he did not get any receipt for the purchase as the shops did not issue any. He also added that he was not a street vendor and all he had bought was for his household. The police chief replied that this claim would be examined at the police station and called the patrol car no. 637. Nuñez Mendoza was driven to the police unit known as Parque 24 where he was kept for 3 hours. Before his release, he was fined 300 pesos and received an official warning.
