Gender activist is intercepted on her way to a meeting on gender issues, assaulted and detained for 36 hours without explanation.



Yadiraidis was invited to a discussion meeting on gender. On her way to the meeting, she was intercepted by a State Security Agent and several Ministry police officers, among them were three women. Without telling her or warning her, they grabbed her by the arm to take her to the patrol car, which she resisted, shouting "Long live human rights, the homeland and life! The officers' response was to pull her hair and slap her face. They then took her to the Criminal Instruction, where she was detained for 36 hours and later released without explanation.
