Wilfredo Sánchez Arango was arrested at 2 pm by a patrol car, as he was heading to Jamaica with his family in his car. A police officer, after requesting the IDs and driver's license and seeing that everything was in order, imposed a fine of 500 pesos for the alleged crime of transporting passengers illegally. Sánchez Arango explained that everyone he had in the car were family members, but the officer began to insult him telling him he was a liar. They began a discussion and then, he was taken to the police unit in the village of Jamaica where Captain Iraniel, who was on duty in the unit, led him to a cell without asking what crime he had committed and left him there until the 8 am of the next day. He was threatened that if they caught him again, they would confiscate his car.
