Activist sentenced to prison for not paying arbitrary fines

A police officer went to the home of activist Roberto Perdomo so that he would appear in the next few hours before the Municipal Court of Mella. There a trial was held against him as a result of which he was sentenced to 1 year of imprisonment for non-payment of fines. The activist alleges that the crime he was charged with is the result of several arbitrary detentions that the Department of State Security (DSE) has committed against him along with other arbitrariness. The activist claims that he has not paid the fines amounting to $6,000 Cuban pesos- CUP ($250 USD) because they are arbitrary sanctions that have been imposed on him as a result of conduct that he has not committed.
