Human rights activist from Holguín detained and beaten up by State Security



On 7 December 2020, in the Province of Holguín, an activist from the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU), Anairis Miranda Leyva, was detained. The detention was carried out by State Security officials and the political police from patrols no. 471 and 470. The activist was beaten up and accused of public disorder and disrespect. When being released 12 hours later, she was threatened with prosecution and imprisonment.
