On January 31, 2016, Ramón Olivares Abelló was detained by the State Security official Alayo. He was driven to the Police Department in El Salvador where he stayed until 1 pm. He was threatened and insulted he was a mercenary and would be prosecuted and go to jail. This happened when the victim was going to the UNPACU HQ in Guantánamo situated in San Lino Street. After that, Ramón wanted to attend Mass in Santuario del Cobre and participate in Todos marchamos campaign which calls for freedom for political prisoners.
