At 4 am, human rights defender and independent journalist, Yusleidy Romero Becerra, left her home to go to the José Martí airport in Havana to travel to Mexico where she was to participate in the political event, "Walk for a Democracy". An official of the State Security was waiting for her under orders from Lieutenant Coronel Beune and Captain Juan Pérez. They stopped her from passing and required her to return to her home, where they detained her. They threatened to take her to prison for the duration of the event. She was guarded all day without being able to leave.
