Activist detained and threatened for participating in the Mass



On that day, Human rights defender and Lady in White, Lianet González Vera, attended Mass which is held every Sunday. On her way home, she was detained by State Security official known as Major Cantillo and political police officer Captain Sergio. She was driven to the detention center Parque 24. She was interrogated by Cantillo and threatened with a fine for having participated in the Mass. She was also mocked in front of the officials present in the station, calling her counterrevolutionary. González Vera was released the same day at 3 pm.
