UNPACU activist Fernando was about to participate in Sunday Mass in the town El Cobre in Santiago de Cuba province. At 5:40 am he was put off the bus and detained along with other activists by the police and state security, all under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Cantillo, head of state security of Caimanera. All this was done in order to prevent their participation in the campaign "Todos Marchamos", demanding the release of political prisoners, respect for human rights and a change in Cuba. Fernando was taken to the police station and threatened with going to prison if he continued in his counter-revolutionary activities.
