An activist detained and insulted for his disease



An activist Felipe Blanco González was on his way to the Santuario del Cobre in Santiago de Cuba. He wanted to attend Mass which was being conducted to demand the end of repression and release of political prisoners in Cuba. At 6 am, he was detained in 3 Sur Street by police and State Security officials. Then he was driven to the police station and threatened. The victim was also insulted by the officials, because he is HIV positive and has AIDS. He was released at 11:30.
