Detained and fined for placing flowers on a bust



Francisco was arrested in Liberty Park very close to the bust of José Martí where he had arrived with a group of brothers from Boitel to pay homage to the Apostle. Law enforcement officers and Political Police officers blocked Francisco and told him: "We have orders from our superiors that today you cannot put flowers here." Francisco was taken in a patrol car to the police station. In the police precinct and during the arrest, they did not issue a arrest record as established by law. Before being released, the police imposed a fine of $150.00 pesos (4.60 €).
