Activists from Guantánamo under strong surveillance after the arrest of UNPACU leader

Since 19 November, 2019, when it went public that the national coordinator of the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU), José Daniel García Ferrer, was imprisoned, the houses of the human rights activists in Guantánamo have been under stronger surveillance. Various methods are being used to monitor their houses, such as jeeps, motorcycles and patrol cars, usually led by officials from the Ministry of the Interior (MININT) and members of the national police, some of them wearing civil clothes. The goal is to prevent the activists from leaving their homes and expressing their solidarity with the imprisoned leader.
