Activist detained by State Security when participating in an event carried out by ADO

On 8 September, 2020, an activist from the Eastern Democratic Alliance (ADO), Leonardo Ramon Viamonte Marrero, was detained in the Cortadera neighborhood in the municipality of Banes. When Leonardo was taking part in an event organized by his organization together with an activist Alexander Rodríguez, he was detained by State Security official known as Gustavo. During his detention, he was threatened that if he continued with his activities, he would be detained again. He was released three hours later.
