In the morning, 24 July 2019, Alain Delgado Rodríguez, an activist from the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU), was on his way to Guantánamo in order to buy some necessary components in ETECSA shop. When he was traveling in the bus, he was detained at the Glorieta checkpoint. The officials asked for his ID and told him to accompany them. They took him to an office which is available there for detainees. Alain had to wait there for two hours for a patrol car. After that he was driven to the police station in San Antonio del Sur where he was received by official Alciviades. He informed Alain that he had been prohibited from traveling and told him that they know about his travel to Santiago where he met José Daniel Ferrer García from the UNPACU. The official threatened him that if he kept doing the same, he would be imprisoned. "You are under our surveillance as a potential criminal and if you behave badly, you will see what it is gonna happen," threatened him the official.
