Police in Guantánamo beats up an UNPACU activist and confiscates his money



On 22 August, 2020, Bartolo Cantillo Romero, a coordinator of the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU) in Guantánamo, was detained and beaten up when he was, along with his wife, leaving the Cadeca exchange office located on the Calixto García and Prado Streets in Guantánamo. In the Cadeca office, they went to pick up a donation of 300 CUC they received for their work in the field of political activism. When leaving, they were assaulted by several officials and policemen. They confiscated the money and beat up Bartolo when he was resisting. After that, they were driven to the Police Instruction Unit.
