On December 6, 2015, an activist Alexander Chacón Lamoth was heading to Santiago de Cuba to attend Mass in the Santuario del Cobre. He was attacked by anti-riot units belonging to the National Revolutionary Police in Camilo Cienfuegos Avenue and San Gregorio street. State Security officials beat him and then took him to the Police Department. They offended him he is black and looks like a monkey. He was also threatened by the Security instructor Odelin. He was released on December 7 in the evening.
