An UNPACU activist was searched and threatened with death by state officials, who accused him of carrying information sent from Santiago to be distributed in Barracoa.



"On September 16, UNPACU activist Fernando Rodríguez Lovaina was threatened by a PNR lieutenant and Security Captain Neuri Durán Paján. Fernando was on his way to his home, also UNPACU headquarters, because according to the officers, he was carrying information sent from Santiago to be distributed in Barracoa. He was threatened with death and searched by the officers who were looking for compact discs, printouts or telephones that would allow them to arrest him."
