On Friday, December 29, 2017 at 10:00 am, when the independent lawyer Ada González Pérez and her husband went to the monthly meeting held by the Legal Department for Civic Instruction in the home of lawyer José Ernesto Morales, they were arrested by an operator for the State Security, preventing them from reaching the activity. The officers who directed the repressive action against the activists were the Chief of the Special Unit Major, Juan Pérez, and Major Oreste Ayala. Both had previously warned and threatened the lawyer that no one should go to the meeting and that he who managed to do so would be taken away to the police and sanctioned for the crime of disobedience. After the repression, Pérez was taken with her husband in a white Lada car and moved to their home where they were forbidden to leave that day.
