An independent lawyer was prohibited from attending a meeting

About 10:00 a.m., the independent lawyer Calixto Evaristo Miranda Landeiro and his wife went to the monthly meeting held by the Legal Department and Civic Instruction in the home of lawyer José Ernesto Morales. On the way, they were arrested by a State Security operative, which prevented their attendance at the activity. The officers who directed the repressive action against the activists were the Head of Special Unit Major Juan Pérez and Major Oreste Ayala. They warned and threatened the lawyer that no one would come to the meeting and he who managed to do so would be taken to the police and sanctioned for the crime of disobedience. After the repression, he was put in a white Lada car and transferred to his home where he was obliged to stay that day.
