Activist could not leave the province and his identity card was confiscated

At 4:30 a.m., Ivan arrived at the interprovincial bus terminal in the city of Matanzas. A white car with the Reg No. of Interior Ministry parked behind the bus. Two uniformed policemen were on the platform and immediately asked Ivan for his identification. They took him to a patrol car and transferred him to the Police Station of Playa. There was Ivan taken to one of the cells of the institution until around 3:00 p.m., when he was released. He was not allowed to communicate with his family as established in article 244 of the Criminal Procedure Law for each detainee. At the time of his release, they returned the belongings that he carried with him except his identity card, which did not appear.
