Man arrested and taken to the police station for defending his wife



Agustin Jesus Gonzalez, a representative of the Sindicato Cuenta Propista Independiente, was arrested for defending his wife while she was being repressed by 2 police officers. According to bystanders, Augustin walked up to the officers and tried to explain to the officers the situation. One of them grabbed Agustin with a choke hold and shoved into a police car alongside his wife. They took them to the police headquarters in Pinar del Rio, where he was accused of disorderly conduct and fined 700 CUP (22.5€) as stated by Article 6 of Decree 315. The police threaten to revoke his self-employment licence, if he repeats his actions. They were released at 3 PM.
