At 3:30 pm, when Arsenio left his house, two State Security officials and a policeman stopped him. They asked him to accompany them to the police station. Arsenio asked for the reason and they said they would like to talk to him. Arsenio agreed and got in the red Lada car. The officials told him that they were going to Holguín. When they arrived at the Police Department in Holguín, they asked him for his identity card, but Arsenio did not have it with him since they did not give him enough time to take it. They issued a detention record saying that he is accused of public disorder. Arsenio replied that he was innocent and the reason why he was there was that he was a human rights defender and they were fabricating a crime for him. He was detained there for 72 hours without being given anything to eat. After his release, the officials said that there would be no follow up and his criminal record was clean.
