Luis Robles was beaten by "El Maya" as a punishment for having an altercation with the re-educator "Ramoncito", who was late in delivering him a pair of shoes that his brother had left him in prison because he did not have any. In addition to the beating he received, he was locked in a punishment cell for several days and was threatened with being taken to the Disciplinary Court.
