Activist Bartolo Góngora Domínguez arrested while doing banking business



On 1st September 1, 2014, activist Bartolo Góngora Domínguez was arrested after being physically abused by the custodian of the Banco de Crédito y Comercio in the city of Baracoa. The arrest occurred when the activist was lined up to make arrangements for a loan that the state had granted him for home repairs. At that moment, the bank's custodian pushed all the people in the line, including the activist. Mr. Góngora's sons reacted by also pushing the custodian, the bank manager called the police who arrested the activist and his children.
