Activist from Guantánamo detained and prevented from participation in Mass



Bartolo Cantillo Romero, a human rights activist and a collaborator of the Ladies in White, was on his way to the Santa Catalina de Ricci Church where he wanted to join Sunday Mass. When he was passing through Calixto García and 3 Sur Street, he was stopped by State Security official known as Kevin or Jefferson. The official announced him that he could not continue his way. Bartolo refused and ended up detained. He was taken to the State Security unit known as Operations. From there, he was released at about 12 pm on the same day.
